Watches the air distort a star and writes down by how much.
Seeing is the limit on every ground telescope, and it changes minute to minute. The AM-7 tracks a reference source through the full column and reports the Fried parameter continuously. Sealed to seven bar and salt fog qualified, because the instruments that need it sit on exposed summits.
